Oh Perception, My Perception

After reading my last post (Perception is reality - dt July 20, 2010 - seems like years back) my friend Shailesh while agreeing with me completely on why perception should be different for everybody had 2 points to make:

1) Whatever anyone's perception maybe, there is fundamental truth. That fundamental truth remains unchanged.

2) Subjectivity apart, why should the mind view perceive anything differently if the inputs received are the same? (The example used by me was of the red and green color). All of us should be designed to work in the same manner.

We had a long and an interesting discussion. Here's what i think.

1) I agree. I also want to add that this fundamental truth needs to be observed and the moment we humans do so it gets converted to perception. Hence we are back to square one.

2) I disagree. Every human has an incredibly different thought process. If we all were to think alike the human race would either be extinct long ago (that not to say we aren’t headed there but that’s for a very different reason) or we would be living in a Utopian world. That by itself indicates that we are all wired differently. We are individuals and you never know what goes on in our minds.

  1. I partially agree with the 1st point, but with respect to fundamental truth, i presume
there is noting like fundamental truth, again it is a perception of the person who have
identified it, undoubtedly fundamentals have no stand in philosophy whereas similar in scientific world.

your may dissent me in this matter but its my individual thought or can be a perception.
for example, let us consider the flying concept,we are still unaware of its fundamentals.
whatever we have achieved is just the derivations. we can't fly the regular or irregular objects yet.

Consider the aliens ( alien theory is a speculation but can't be denied).
they may have the different flying theory from us. So nobody knows
about the fundamental truth, but it is just the a derivations of certain concept.

My conclusion to this is there is no fundamental truth.
